Coronation Street legend Bill Roache has been told to beef up security after a gang raided a neighbour’s home.
The brazen crooks smashed through patio doors in the house in Bill’s well-heeled street to grab keys to a Range Rover parked on the drive.
And the crime was carried out at 8pm in the evening – leading cops to go door-to-door to chat to worried homeowners.
The 89-year-old Ken Barlow star has lived in the same house in Cheshire for decades.
A source revealed: “The crime has shocked the street because it was so brazen and at 8pm on a Saturday night.
“Police have gone door-to-door speaking to residents to tell them to look at their security and also if they have any clues about the crime.”
Cheshire police said: “We’re appealing for witnesses & video footage after a burglary at an address in Wilmslow, where a dark grey Range Rover was stolen.
“The incident occurred sometime between 8pm and 8.30pm on Saturday 16 October.”
Both Bill’s rep and Coronation Street have been approached for comment.
